{Design Statement} A room layout was created for the Lopez family in San Antonio, Texas. The room layout is designed to mimic the Spanish Colonial style. The design scope is as follows: living room, kitchen, and dining room. Notable, distinct features are carried throughout these spaces that help unify the concept. Examples of these features include grass-cloth wallpaper and cast iron, stucco walls, dark wood beams and flooring, and arched details. Ultimately, the design goal of this project is meant for the end-clientele to be able to sit back, relax, and embrace the historical design elements and culture of the Spanish Colonial time period.
